Architectural and historical surveys

Terrestrial LiDAR scanning in Girona

Architectural and historical surveys with 3D precision

We capture buildings, spaces and heritage elements using terrestrial LiDAR scanning to generate point clouds, 3D models and reliable technical documentation.

The built environment, transformed into accurate data

At 3DGraphicsLab, we carry out architectural surveys and document historic buildings using terrestrial LiDAR scanning. We obtain an accurate digital representation of the existing conditions to support the design, renovation, preservation and better management of each space.

Architectural and historical surveys

We measure buildings, interiors, façades and complex spaces to create a reliable foundation for architecture, renovation and engineering projects.

Historical documentation

We capture the current condition of heritage buildings and features for study, preservation, restoration and dissemination.

Point clouds and 3D models

We deliver spatial data that can serve as a basis for drawings, BIM models, orthophotos and technical visualisation.

Greater precisionDocument geometry, deformations and details that do not appear in a conventional drawing.
More informationWork with a complete digital capture of the existing conditions.
Greater safetyReduce manual measurements in complex or hard-to-reach areas.

What we can deliver

Point cloud

Three-dimensional data of the captured space for measurement, analysis and subsequent modelling.

Drawings and sections

Graphic documentation extracted from the scan according to the project’s requirements.

3D or BIM model

Digital models for architecture, engineering, discipline coordination, and building management.

A clear process, from start to finish

01 · Initial site visitWe assess the building, the scope and the required level of detail.
02 · PlanningWe define the scanning positions, work areas and deliverables.
03 · LiDAR data captureWe carry out the survey and register the different scan positions.
04 · Processing and deliveryWe record, clean, and deliver the agreed-upon data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an architectural survey and LiDAR scanning?

LiDAR scanning captures millions of points in a space, enabling the existing geometry to be documented in great detail. This data can be used to produce drawings, sections, 3D models and other deliverables.

Can a historic building be scanned without altering its elements?

Yes. LiDAR capture is a non-invasive method that allows geometries and details to be recorded without direct contact with most surfaces.

Can you generate a BIM model?

We can assess the creation of a BIM model or provide the point cloud and documentation required for the project to continue in the relevant working environment.

Do you work in Girona and other areas of Catalonia?

Yes, we carry out projects in Girona, Banyoles, Figueres, Olot, the Costa Brava and other areas of Catalonia upon request.

Do you need to survey a historic building or feature?

Send us the location, some photographs and the project objective. We will advise you on the most appropriate scope and deliverables.
